The Show Must Go On

I’m just another man up there
Neither a lead nor a support
I'm nothing but another face
Taking up space on his stage

But I can’t help it
And I play my role
Without a sound adhere to the wishes
The tears can’t help but fall

I work backstage against my will
I lift the curtains till they stand still
And wait for a chance, just an offer
And put on my smile, meant to slaughter

The curtain falls and the silence ensues
Veiled again, I stare in darkness
The tears start, but none bother
I wipe them off as they don’t matter

Every day I put a garb on my soul
Because inside I'm broken
Reluctant, still I carry on
For, the show must go on…
